An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced GP’s and Healthcare Assistants to join the CHoC team in support of the South Cumbria Weekend Routine GP Appointment Service.
This Pilot Scheme has been developed to provide extended routine general practice capacity for the population of South Cumbria. All 32 practices in South Cumbria will be able to offer additional routine bookable general practice appointments at the weekend. The bookable appointments will be located at two sites; Furness General Hospital (FGH), Barrow and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH).
This is a pilot project to run on Saturday and Sunday mornings between the hours of 09.00-13.30, with the prospect of substantive post and extending hours and scope of role dependant on project evaluation.
General Practice in South Cumbria recognises the need to provide alternative services. In an area where there are high numbers of small rural practices and areas of significant deprivation, a hybrid approach to developing services is required. It is recognised nationally that practices will need to work in collaborative groups to deliver weekend access in many areas.
General Practitioners
We are looking for experienced general practitioners to join our clinical team, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team; the post holder will be responsible for delivering primary care medical services to patients within South Cumbria.
The role is based either at the Furness General Hospital (Barrow) or Westmorland General Hospital (Kendal).
