We are delighted to announce that CHoC Medical Director, Dr Neil Margerison, won the ‘GP Award’ at the annual RCGP Cumbria Faculty Awards.
The awards are a new initiative for the Cumbria Faculty to acknowledge excellence and innovation with individuals being nominated by colleagues. The awards process is then overseen by a panel of judges made up of members of the RCGP Cumbria Faculty Board, both GPs and lay members. The judges were looking for evidence including:
- An Outstanding contribution to Primary Care
- Innovative ideas
- Commendation by patients and colleagues
- Work carried out beyond the call of duty
- Details of personal qualities
Neil was announced as the winner at the Annual Branston Lecture and Dinner evening on 31 October 2019. The faculty acknowledged Neil’s career which spans over 30 years dedicated to primary care, noting that Neil leads by example and provides every member of the CHoC team, and the patient population of Cumbria, with consistency and passion for high quality healthcare, putting the patient at the heart of all that CHoC does. It is fantastic to see Neil formally acknowledged by his peers as Neil is held in incredibly high regard not just by every member of the CHoC team but those beyond it too.
Our warmest congratulations to Neil on this very deserved award!
