NHS Cumbria's Lung Cancer Awareness Campaign

Prescription Charges

Paying for your medication item/s

If you require treatment from Cumbria Health on Call and medication is given to you from our stock then you will need to pay for each item that is issued to you.

Why?

Following your consultation with either a nurse or a doctor, your symptoms may mean that you require medication to be given at that time; this is probably as a result of a pharmacy not being open.

Normal practice would be to give you a prescription that you could take to the pharmacy but there are times of the day when that service is not available.

Each medication item costs £7.40.

What if I am exempt from paying?

You will be asked to provide evidence of your exemption status by the Receptionist if you require medication to be given from stock.

What if I am unable to pay at the time of treatment?

You will then be provided with a letter that will indicate the process for payment which will be expected within 2 weeks of having received your treatment.
